Michaela Gogova

Why do you see square when what is painted is fresh air after early morning autumn rain?

Michaela is a London-based artist exploring intuition, memory, and form. Working in layered compositions and bold geometric structures on 100% recycled canvas made from plastic bottles, she allows each painting to unfold as a quiet dialogue between instinct and intention.

Michaela is captivated by the pristine smoothness of the surface, which allows pigment to flow without interruption. She frames this interaction as a 'conversation with the canvas'—a silent give-and-take as the material quietly responds to her stroke."

Born in Slovakia, Michaela is a self-taught artist who briefly trained at Central Saint Martins and works from her studio at Wimbledon Art Studios.
